Beyond tourism—journey to Haiti in a way that is rooted in ceremony, learning, and community partnership.
Hi, I'm Alyssa.
Growing up I felt outside of my culture. I'd only been to Haiti once as a child. I wasn't fluent in Kreyòl. I wanted to connect to my culture, but I didn't want to be judged for not already knowing.
Then one day I went to a conference about Haitian culture where I realized that my children didn’t know where their grandparents came from. I saw that I was quietly passing down shame about being Haitian.
That was my breaking point.
More About MeSpring Revival
Last August, we gathered more than 130 people from around the world during the first offering of the Revolution of the Haitian Spirit. On March 21, we will come together again. It aligns with the spring solstice and reminds us of the cycle of seasons and a time for change.Â
